Judy Young Naughton

The Last 50 Years

In thinking back over the years since we graduated from high school, I have had a very interesting and eventful life.   Some of you know my parents, Everette and Mildred Young.  They are great parents and have supported and encouraged me in all that I have done.  I have 2 wonderful sisters Jan and Linda.  Jan and her husband live in Montrose and Linda and her husband live here in Mesa.
Over the years the most important thing my husband and I have done is raise 4 children.  Now we are watching them raise their children.  Parenthood has it's challenges!

I retired for America West Airlines about 10 years ago.  The airline has changed names to U.S. Airways but I still have my flying benefits.  My husband and I do get to fly free anywhere the airline flies.  My parents were included in my benefits so we all took some wonderful trips.  Here are a few highlights.

Last summer we hooked onto our 5th wheel trailer and went traveling through California for 3 months.  It was a great trip.  We enjoyed sights all over the state.  We loved Yosemite National Park where these pictures were taken.

We looked outside our door one Saturday afternoon and this is what we saw.  The whole RV park was evacuated.  We were near Fontana, California at Lytle Creek.  The fire went north so the park wasn't damaged but it did look scary for a while with the wind blowing.  We could see the flames from our RV site.

In March of 2006 we traveled to Spain with my sister, Linda and her husband Jerry.  Our daughter, Karen and her husband Ken also went with us.  This picture was taken in Madrid.

I have lots of pictures but this gives you a look at some of the buildings.

The Rock of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.  My sister, Linda, worked for Prudential Insurance for about 30 years.  So we took her picture by the "rock."
In school we always studied about the Rock of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea, I never thought I would travel there.  We waded in the Sea but it was too chilly for swimming.
